Hello Church Family,
One of my favorite verses from the Bible and I would consider it my life verse is Joshua 1:8-9. It says,
Joshua 1:8–9 (ESV)
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
This verse has meant a lot to me as it is passage that describes the leadership transition from Moses to Joshua. Moses lead the people for 40 years to the edge of the promised land but Joshua was the one that led the people to the promised land. It is a great example of how leaders are called to trust God and take steps of faith forward. The road isn’t promised to be easy but God is the one directing the path of the leader and the people.
We’re in a leadership transition from Brian to myself. Brian has led faithfully for 10 ½ years and has walked with me as I take the reigns of leadership as the new Lead Pastor. I’ve been asked by friends and family how long I will be at RiverStone. My answer is always the same, I am here as long as God says. My hope and prayer is to be here for a long time as we grow together as this local body called RiverStone Church. No matter how much time we have together we can only focus on the next thing God calls us to.
Be encouraged by the words God gave Moses and Joshua, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jeremy
