Hello Church Family,
This past Sunday we looked at Jesus’ command to go and make disciples. As we look into the book of Acts we see that the early church took that command seriously and began planting churches. They planted churches all over the known world as God multiplied their numbers. The apostles planted the churches and they continued to stay in contact with them as they wanted to make sure the churches stayed true to the message of the gospel of Jesus Christ. They understood that churches can easily move away from the true message of God’s word if they aren’t focused on Jesus Christ.
Sometimes God calls us to do hard things. It may be going places that are different or taking a step out in faith. I don’t know if RiverStone has had a history of being a church that plants churches. I’m not sure that this has been part of our DNA, but I do believe it is what God is calling us to. We are called to raise up leaders to be sent out to go and share the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world.
How is God calling you to be part of that mission? Is He calling you to pray for the church and for those that God would have us raise up to go out? Is God calling you to invite people in your community, workplace, neighborhood, or places of influence to join us on this work? Maybe God is calling you to make a special offering to financially support RiverStone in this work to spread the gospel.
We aren’t all called to do the same thing, but we are all called to do something. Ask God what he is calling you to do as we work together to spread scriptural holiness throughout our community and into the world.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jeremy
