Epistle to RiverStone April 16, 2026

Hello Church Family,

“…these I will bring to my holy mountain,

and make them joyful in my house of prayer;

their burnt offerings and their sacrifices

will be accepted on my altar;

for my house shall be called a house of prayer

for all peoples.”

Isaiah 56:7

What does it look like for RiverStone Church to be a house of prayer for all people? What does it look like for us to be a place where all people regardless of language, race, socioeconomic status or color pray together? What are we doing now to encourage the church to be a place of prayer? What do we need to do so that being a house of prayer is part of our DNA?

So many times, people hear the word prayer and equate it with a special formula or think they aren’t qualified to pray. Prayer is to be an essential part of the life of the believer. We are to spend time praying every day. We should have an attitude of prayer always. Prayer is not meant to be a sign of how close you are to God. It’s not a litmus test of how saved you are, nor is it an indication of how mature you are in the faith.

Prayer is to be a conversation that we as children of God have with our heavenly Father. We spend time talking to Him because of our love for Him. We spend time talking with God because of our gratefulness for His work in our life. We spend time talking to God because we understand our need for Him. Prayer is not just a certain time or a special formula but should be part of the very air we breathe. Every time we breathe should be a prayer unto God as we give Him thanks for the very breath in our body.

What do you need to do to live a life of prayer? What do we need to do as a church to live a life of prayer?

May RiverStone Church be a House of Prayer for All Peoples.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Jeremy
