Pastor’s Epistle, June 19, 2025

June 19, 2025

“A true follower of Jesus never becomes accustomed to the sound of footsteps headed for hell.”
Good day to you all. Today’s Epistle is a bit of short news briefs.

  1. I’m putting together a series for the Epistle in which I will share qualities of a Christ Follower. It will be informative and practical for your daily walk. I should get it kicked off next week.
  2. This past Monday I had eye surgery for cataract removal. I’ll have another on the 30th if all goes as planned. Ironic is the fact that now that I have 20/20 in my right eye, I misplaced my glasses yesterday. Oops! Added to this I have experienced another tooth splitting in-two and will have it extracted today, I hope. When it rains…
  3. Web Chilton and Matt DeVere have been getting the lighting conundrum resolved for our new steeple cross. As with most churches, no one has kept up with add-ons or renovations to electrical, plumbing, etc. But Web and Matt have worked out getting the right kind of power for the lighting. Now, it’s a matter of getting a controller connection so we can manipulate and manage the lighting. We will have the only cross whose lighting can illuminate the cross with different and multiple colors! Cool!
  4. I am discerning what God has in mind for the next series of messages. This has taken on an added meaning in that I have twenty-five Sundays left before the approximate retirement date. Please lift me in prayer to rightly hear what God desires us to hear from Him.
  5. Our to date unscientific research indicates that just over half of you read the Epistle. This is a bit disheartening and frustrating. Disheartening because, believe it or not, I attempt to make them worth your while. Frustrating, because we do attempt to keep everyone informed of events and important matters only to have some folk say, “I never saw that” or “I never heard that.” Encourage one another to read the Epistle.
  6. Pray for your church family, our community, and especially for those God would have us reach with Christ’s love and Gospel. May we all genuinely Love ,Follow, and Serve Jesus and seek to Thrive in ’25!

Loving you in Jesus!
Pastor Brian
