Hello Church Family,
One month down, lots to go. Me and my family have officially been here for a month. In that time we have experienced the love of Christ among the people of RiverStone. We have also seen the hurt and pain of those grieving the loss of loved ones. We’ve talked to people who have had some hurt and bitterness from people in the church. We’ve also seen some healing occur as God has been reconciling relationships. There is a lot that can be learned from trying to walk together in faith. We are all walking towards Jesus, but our steps may look a little different. Our pace of walking may be different, but we’re trying to walk together as we all follow Jesus together.
In 1 Corinthians 11:1, Paul says “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Acts 4:32 says, “Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul…”
Are we as a church of one heart and soul? Are we as a church following the example of Christ? I pray that in everything I have said and written, you hear one thing over and over and that is the importance of being in prayer and being a people who believe in the power of prayer. We can only be of one heart and soul and following the example of Jesus Christ if we are a church guided by the Holy Spirit and living a life of prayer. We are to always be in prayer on the direction of the church and what role God is calling us to play at RiverStone. I ask that you take some time in prayer. Thank God for what He is doing at our church and how He has been moving. Continue to pray for God to send people that need to hear the truth of the gospel. Pray for me as your pastor and the rest of the leaders that we will lead well and will follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
