Position:       Worship Leader

Status:        Part-time, exempt

Supervisor:  Lead Pastor; Church Personnel Relations

Pay Range: $24,000 – $27,000 per year

Ministry Objectives

  • Plan and execute ministry goals in view of the Great Commission and aligned with RiverStone’s vision, goals, and strategies.
  • Plan and execute activities and ministry in harmony with biblical principles and RiverStone policies and procedures.
  • Craft lively worship services that communicate the majesty and grace of God.
  • Lead and teach in manner that enhances participants’ relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Musically communicate the breadth of the Christian story and message.
  • Build a worship team with additional vocalist, musicians, and technical team members.

 

Work Hours & Expectations

  • Exempt position, based on 25-30 hours per week.
  • Plan worship in cooperation with Lead Pastor and other staff members.
  • Participation and leadership in worship services.
  • Lead vocal and instrumental practices as needed.
  • Lead Worship Team and develop new team members.
  • Assist with funerals and weddings as needed.
  • Be diligent in the practice of your personal soul care.
  • Personal time off with consultation and approval of Lead Pastor per policy.

 

Specific Duties as Worship Leader

  • Prayerfully plan and craft varied worship experiences in cooperation with Lead Pastor.
  • Plan and carry out weekly worship ministry rehearsals.
  • Make recommendations for worship ministry annual budget in cooperation with Lead Pastor.
  • Effectively communicate with church leadership and pastor regarding the music ministry.
  • Encourage participants to use talents and God-given gifts as a service to God and for the sake of others.
  • Craft worship experiences utilizing multi-media.
  • Lead and equip vocalists and musicians in weekly, periodic & seasonal services.
  • Develop and maintain healthy relationships with staff, leadership team & church members.
  • Recruit, train, and shepherd worship ministry leaders (paid and/or volunteer) through discipleship, teaching, and encouragement.
  • Other duties as assigned by Lead Pastor.

 

 

Requirements:

  • A deep and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for worship.
  • Proven experience leading worship in a church or ministry setting.
  • Proficiency in playing an instrument (preferably guitar or keyboard/piano) and leading vocally.
  • Strong musical and vocal abilities with a passion for creating a worshipful atmosphere.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with church staff, worship team members, and the congregation.
  • A servant-leader attitude, with the ability to inspire and encourage others.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience with worship technology and sound systems (live mixing, ProPresenter, technical directing, etc.) is a plus.
  • A degree in music, worship ministry, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
