A Man After God's Own Heart
In the first week of our new series, You're Never Too Far, we look at King David, the shepherd who defeated Goliath and was called "a man after God's own heart." His story also includes adultery with Bathsheba, a cover-up, and the death of Uriah, a choice that could easily have become the moment that defined his life. Instead, David turned back to God with a broken and repentant heart, praying, "Create in me a clean heart, O God" (Psalm 51), and God redeemed his story. David's story is one of redemption, not perfection, and it reminds us that no matter what we've done, we're never too far from God's forgiveness, mercy, and love.
