Epistle to RiverStone October 1, 2026

Hello Church Family,

We just completed our series Good, God, Gospel. I was having a conversation the other day about the series and I was asked isn’t this just another program like all the other programs that we have done. My answer to that is no. But it is only no if this helps guide how we live our life and not just a checklist item to show that we are somehow better than our neighbor. The thing that separates programs from life skills is what happens after the “training” is done. Do we get excited for a bit and then it slowly fades as the time moves on? Or do we embrace what we have learned and change how we interact with people.

If you have been able to join us for the series I hope it has opened your eyes to how you interact with the people around you. Most of us are having conversations with people on a daily basis. The question for a lot of us is doing the conversations stay at the surface level or do we provide space for them to go deeper. Sometimes in order for conversations to go deeper, we have to be willing to allow the space for the conversation to occur. It’s ok to go into conversations with no agenda, we should have the goal of getting to know someone better and to hear their story.

How or when these good conversations lead to God conversations that lead to Gospel conversations is based on the Holy Spirit’s leading. It doesn’t all need to happen at one sitting, it could occur over a series of days, weeks or months. We listen to the person we are talking to and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our conversation.

Just remember we can’t save anyone. Only God can save us, we are called to be a witness of Jesus Christ.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Jeremy
