Hello Church Family,
Acts 9:3–6 (ESV)
3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4 And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” 5 And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6 But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”
Saul was a persecutor of the Early Church until he had an encounter with the risen Jesus Christ. He was not the same person after the blinding light on the road to Damascus. His life had been radically changed and would be different from this point forward. Saul didn’t expect to encounter Jesus on that day. He woke up that morning with his plans set and was on the way to make sure that he could continue to persecute the followers of Jesus.
Many of us have had an encounter with Jesus which disrupted our schedule, our plans, our life. Our lives have been radically changed as we live our lives following after Jesus Christ and not after our own desires. When we have had a radical life change, we are called to share our story with everyone we meet. We can share what our life was like before encountering Jesus and what our life is like after encountering Jesus.
My prayer for all of us is that we are testimonies everyday of what it means to have an encounter with Jesus and to never be the same. May our lives be living testimonies of Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christ,
Pastor Jeremy
