Thank you for your willingness to serve at First UMC, Farmington. We recognize the importance of serving for God’s Kingdom and the importance of learning how to maintain a safe environment while doing so. The United Methodist Church is dedicated to teaching our congregations, staff, and volunteers the principals of safety through the Safe Sanctuaries program. First UMC Farmington holds Safe Sanctuaries trainings multiple times throughout the year in order to maintain the annual training requirement of those serving. We have provided this online refresher course for those who have attended a Safe Sanctuaries training in person.

There are 5 steps to follow to complete your online Safe Sanctuaries training.

Step 1: Review PowerPoint Presentation in PDF format

This PDF file contains information about Safe Sanctuaries, statistics, and why we follow this program.

Step 2: Review The Safe Sanctuaries Policy & Procedures at FUMC

This manual outlines the current policies and procedures in effect regarding Safe Sanctuaries at First UMC Farmington.

Step 3: Take Quiz

Complete the quiz by answering questions about the information you learned in PDF presentation and from the Policy and Procedures manual.

Step 4: Complete the FUMC Volunteer Form

This form gives us all the necessary information needed to understand your volunteer goals and history, and to complete the required background check for those 18 and over.

Step 5: Complete the Participant Covenant Form

This is the covenant between you and First UMC Farmington while you serve in ministry for the First United Methodist Church body.
